Reflexology

Reflexology is a deeply relaxing treatment that is so much more than your average foot massage.

In reflexology, specific points on the feet and hands correspond to different organs, glands, and systems of the body. As reflexologists, we are trained to apply gentle pressure to these reflex points, which helps to  stimulate the body’s natural healing processes, promote relaxation, and support overall wellbeing.

Non-toxic living is of huge importance to me. You can therefore expect the products used in my clinic to be natural, including balms with essential oils and organic bamboo towels.

  • Reflexology is an extremely beneficial health treatment, but some of the most common complaints it can assist with are:

    • Easing stress and anxiety

    • Releasing tension

    • Reducing pain symptoms

    • Improving sleep

    • Migraines and headaches

    • Pregnancy and postpartum care

    • Helping you have better periods

    • Conception

    • Relaxation during IVF

  • In Wedmore, Somerset.

  • Initial appointments include the taking of a medical history, lifestyle and dietary information, and exploring your reasons for having Reflexology.

You will then need to remove shoes and socks, roll your trousers up slightly and relax on the bed. I have blankets, pillows and weighted eye masks to offer.

I will then cleanse your feet and apply a Reflexology balm to your feet and begin the treatment.

Please do not worry if you have ticklish feet - the pressure and technique used should enable you to fully relax and immerse yourself in the treatment.

  • The most common side effects of Reflexology are feeling very relaxed, sleeping more soundly and increased energy.

Before this can happen for some, the body’s own natural healing process may cause temporary symptoms for 1-2 days such as increased urination, or bowel movements, decreased energy or cold like symptoms. These are temporary and are seen as a positive occurrence indicating that the body is responding to treatment.

  • This is entirely up to you and is dependent on factors such as your own personal preference and what you would like to achieve from Reflexology. It might be once per week, once per month or even once per year.

Some people see an improvement immediately, and for other people it can take longer. If we are working towards a goal or assisting with a particular health issue, weekly treatments are the most beneficial to begin with followed by monthly maintenance treatments. Often, the benefits are seen after 3-5 weekly treatments but we can discuss what I feel would be beneficial to you.

Alternatively, you may wish to see me for a one off treatment to benefit from some rest and relaxation.
